Happy Owners and Happy Pets

"Physio vet were brilliant in the treatment of my old lady Tabitha, some 6 years ago. The treatment for her arthritis gave her visible relief. She was chilled and relaxed and clearly enjoyed thr administration of the treatment. Alas, she went downhill suddenly due to her age. We lost her at 19 and 5 months. I would have no hesitation in visiting with my current cats if and when the need is. " Deb Godfrey Facebook

What Is Stem Cell Therapy?

Stem cell therapy is a very useful addition to conventional arthritis treatments that might not be effective enough in reducing pain and improving mobility. It is also another treatment option for patients that have had an adverse reaction to certain pain medications.

How Do We Use Stem Cell Therapy?

The procedure is done under a GA and involves taking stem cells from the patient’s bone marrow or fat. The harvested stem cells are then injected into the arthritic joint. Stem cells are unspecialised cells that are renewing themselves through cell division, serving as an internal repair system. The injected stem cells cause regeneration within the joint resulting in increased mobility and decreased pain. This is why the treatment is often referred to as regenerative medicine.
